Why Scorpion Venom?
Scorpion venom is a natural treasury of peptides, proteins, and bioactive molecules acting on the nervous and immune systems. Once seen only as a toxin, modern research reveals remarkable therapeutic promise—from targeting cancer cells and blocking tumor growth to novel strategies against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Highlights of Scorpion Venom
- Androctonus crassicauda — venom reported to suppress MCF-7 breast cancer cell growth and induce necrosis at higher doses.
- Hemiscorpius lepturus — peptides such as Hemicalcin (calcium channels) and Hemilipin (anti-angiogenesis), plus PLD1 with dermonecrotic activity.
- Odontobuthus doriae — the peptide OD1 modulates Nav1.7 sodium channels, relevant to pain and oncology.
- Mesobuthus eupeus — antimicrobial peptides (MeVAMP family) and chlorotoxin-like peptides with potential in brain-tumor targeting.

About Avand Kashef Tasnim (AKT)
Founded in 2016, Avand Kashef Tasnim is a knowledge-based company built on research, innovation, and close collaboration with leading experts. From day one, we focused on building one of the world’s most advanced scorpion breeding and venom-production facilities.
Today we operate across multiple fronts: breeding diverse scorpion species, extracting venom, advancing pharmaceutical research, and developing innovative therapeutics based on scorpion venom and scorpion oil. We also provide professional training programs in scorpion breeding that award official certificates upon completion.
Our collaborations span Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shahid Beheshti University, and programs supported by Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), alongside elite investigators and academic institutions worldwide.
The company was founded and is led by Mr. Javad Atashi, a nationally recognized entrepreneur whose vision continues to drive our growth and innovation.

Research & Publications
For over seven years, we have invested in translational research on scorpion venom and scorpion oil. In partnership with Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and Shahid Beheshti University—and through initiatives aligned with MSRT—we collaborate with leading scientists and universities worldwide across oncology, neurology, and antimicrobial development.
Current investigations prioritize venom-derived peptides for selective tumor targeting, next-generation anti-infectives, and formulation strategies for scorpion oil. Explore more in the Research section.
